With the outbreak of the coronavirus, our members are faced with many new challenges. We understand there is growing anxiety about supporting children’s learning which is why we have created our own ‘Lockdown Learning’; interactive, self-directed, inquiry-based learning activities around Torquay history. We have covered a range of age levels across topics such as:
- Taylor Park, it’s history and biodiversity
- Torquay Pioneers and our street names
- Anzac Day, locals at Gallipoli, local commemoration and memorials
- Saving the Joseph H Scammell – as the investigator, tasked to find if the ship could have been saved?
Written by a teacher, we believe the activities will help you support your children with learning activities during this period of lockdown.
