History Matters Spring Edition

Spring is in the air. As we start another season, TMWW has published another issue of History Matters.

There is a great story about the Torquay Improvement Association, formed in 1889; it is the oldest community organisation in Torquay. The story includes information about the people who were responsible for its development and the hall, a historical landmark.

Gordon Matthews shares his insight into Russell Graham, a local surfing icon. Other stories include the McConachy, Bell and Dee families, another Bellbrae Cemetery Centenarian intern, and South Barwon Councillor.

We enjoy sharing our history, and your support allows us to keep researching for more stories. You can pick up a copy at Torquay Newsagent or subscribe to our digital copy from our website https://www.torquayhistory.com/membership-application/

Enjoy!!
