The Family History Index is an index of over 2,000 separate files deposited by researchers with Torquay Museum Without Walls. Each file contains research on a specific family or number of families, and there may be several records for a given family. The files range in size from one page to substantial family histories running hundreds of pages. They may take the form of research notes, random jottings, family group sheets, pedigree charts, family trees, original documents, transcripts, newspaper cuttings, photographs or fully written up histories.
Generally families of three generations or more are included. Most of the information is Australian based.
