The Head Teacher of the Jan Juc (Bellbrae) State School, Corporal Robert Grant Scott, was just 23 years old when he enlisted in the army in 
1915. Five months later he was headed to France to fight for his country in the Great War. He would not return home for almost three years.His name is listed on the Bellbrae Honour board.
